I wanted to stay the night in Inisheer just for the chance of taking this picture. It turns out that there were many other good reasons to stay in Inisheer. We hadn't been to the Aran islands since the 1970s, and I find the look of the place just stunningly otherworldly.
South of Galway. This is in an area of farming and not much else. You really have to have a good idea where it is, because it is not well marked. However, when you round the corner and see this, it is an absolutely awe-inspiring sight.
